West Indies coach Stuart Law hopes his side can "rewrite history" during a Test series in England.
The first of a three-match campaign gets underway at Edgbaston on Thursday with the inaugural day/night Test ever staged in England.
Much of the pre-match build-up has focused on how Joe Root's men will cope with their first taste of pink ball international cricket.
Also, given this is England's last Test series before they tour Australia, there has been much speculation as to what the composition of this side could mean in terms of their Ashes defence 'Down Under'.
That England, fresh from a 3-1 home success against South Africa, will win their series against the West Indies is almost taken as read, something unthinkable when the men from the Caribbean were dominating Test cricket in the 1970s and 1980s.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

It's time for the traditional spinner's over before lunch - here's offie Roston Chase. He comes around the wicket to Cook, just a smidgen of turn on offer as Cook ignores the first three deliveries. Chase spears the ball a bit wider, Cook drives - and a mis-field at mid-wicket allows him to bring up his 50! He raises his bat to the crowd while the fielder, quite wisely, hides his face in his hands.

there is nothing right about west indies cricket. it is now a sick joke in the cricket world....
how can you pik so many Bajans on the side and not one is worthy...NOT PHUCKING ONE..NOT EVEN ROSTON CHASE.
WE WILL FIND ABOUT HIM SOON..AS SOON AS ENGLND DECLARE AND START MOW cwi DONG
it is time to mash up west indies cricket. that appears to be the only way to clean it up..by killing it.
I argue that if 8 unworthy bajans can make up the cwi indies side then there is no need for there to be an organized cwi side.
this bajan cwi side is actually playing test cricket. and if they can do it, then Jamaica, Trinidad, Guyana can also play test cricket on their own. the dots can make their own arrangements
mashing up the cricket would end all insularity and biased selection like this travesty here of sCunt Skourtney Browne's. each nation cud pik all of heir own players and dat wud be dat.
Mash up the phuking stupid, jackarse cwi cricket. sen' W Skameron to look for another activity he can bureaucratize and feed off. kiss mih arse parasite

Law serious...he even care ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::
the way I look at it... its real hard for any right -thinking professional people to take cwi cricket seriously. achieving that perspective wud be as hard professionally as coaching the dam incompetent side

deh so stupid deh play Cummins before Bishoo...why in the hell for..even doh Cummins take a wicket ::confused::
if Engalnd get going here they are gong to need some relief.
but I doan understand. you have Holder in the side..dat is 3 pacemen. why you want a fourth..especially Cummins ::confused::
Raymon Reifer reminds of of Rawle Brancker who went to England in 1966, along with David Holford Sobers cousin.
Branker was just an ordinary player but dem superior Bajans packed the side with Bajans as usual whether they cud play or not
Brancker/RR..same types..left-handers too but both sh!ttongs

Who deserves a test place above the Bajans? Who has been performing at the regional level?
Off the top of my head, the only test qualified players who have not been selected for this game are: Bishoo, Narine, Darren Bravo, Gabriel, Hetmeyer, Ramdin, Dwayne Bravo, Gayle, Chanders and Samuels.
Gayle and Dwayne don't want to play tests. Ramdin and Samuels have been a failure in tests over the past 2 years (I'd retain them for ODIs). Bishoo isn't playing this game for tactical reasons (they don't think this is a spin friendly pitch; mistake IMO). Gabriel is injured. Chanders is deemed too old.
That leaves Narine, Darren and Hetmeyer as the only 3 possible selections. Narine may not want to play tests (WICB should try to get him back), Darren is obviously needed but has been suspended, and Hetmeyer has been selected and will possibly play in one of the tests.
Yes, his selection is total nonsense.

Ramdin..at 31-32 is still a much better player than Dowrich.
Ramdin is a better keeper to start with and would save west indies lots or runs as he would not drop the catches Dowrich drops routinely.
Ramdin has done far far better as a batsman that Dowrich can dream off. I once thought Dowrich was a real coming batsman but he is not. he is not even capable of consistent fifites for the cwi. he has proven he is not that good.
Ramdin has scored at leasts5 tons for the west indies and holds the keeping record for top score. when will Dowrich come close to that ::confused::
he bever will. he is not good enough.
even now Ramdin is still capable of popping up with scores that sets west indies up as he has done in the past. Dowrich is not so capable at all. Ramdin strengthens the side. Dowrich has weakened it compared to when Ramdin played
Dropping Ramdin for Dowrich was a mistake that needs to be corrected by return Ramdin to the side

Chanderpaul is just an opportunity for the west indies to make use of at this time:
he had a good season in england..the cwi is in england now
the cwi has a suspect batting side short of class and experience. shive at 43 looks like he has a bit more to give and he is properly available..in form in the circumstance..england
I have seen sides recall older players like shive for late stop gap duty with good success. england used to do it all the time. there is nothing unique to it. this was/is a great opportunity for Shive and the west indies for one last hurrah for shive in a situation of great need by the cwi
there is not one batsman in the ciw top 6 we can count on for any dam scoring at all.
to mention consistency in the same breath as those 6 guys is to expose oneself as a west indian cricket dreamer. yet I am sure we would be able to count on shive for at least 2 fifties from the potential 6 innings he would face were he in the side. a couple of fifties and eating up time in the middle is what we would get from shive 43
it was/is worth a shot
