Still one ought to wonder how India managed to ball so shyte on such a decent bowling track. Amazing. After the first spell in the morning, it was godawful mostly.

Good match. Saw bits of it today. McCullum smashing it around and eventually getting his 200. The a wunder-catch by Jadeja!. If India can get close to 500, this will be a good match. Ishant getting a 6 for I think which I didn't expect seeing the conditions on the first day!

New Zealand's day again. Brendon McCullum went on to get a double, Corey Anderson looked for a hundred but was sawn off, Trent Boult took two in the first over of India's innings, Tim Southee and Neil Wagner got one each with rippers, but now Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane have added 79 for the fifth wicket. India still need 174 to avoid the follow-on

Auckland: New Zealand cricketers Jesse Ryder and Doug Bracewell have been suspended by the country's cricket board after they were found hanging out for a late-night drinking session on the eve of the opening Test match against India here.
Bracewell and Ryder, who were part of New Zealand's 13-member squad, have admitted they were in an Auckland bar in the early hours of Thursday morning.
"Their behaviour is totally unacceptable the night before a match. We trust the players to make good decisions and the pair have breached this trust," team manager Mike Sandle was quoted as saying in the New Zealand Herald.
