From my post above
83-5 to 354-6. Debutant 127* and Ashwin 92* lead 120 with 4 wickets intact.
I blame no one but the Indians, and it greatest Champion Sachin, for not having DRS as Sachin was not out but the Indians have to live with it. DRS would have shown the ball clearly going over the stumps.
Shillingford was good but no one backed him up.
Cotterrel's speed went from almost 90-70 mph and that is an indication of poor fitness. Yes he needs to get used to international cricket but he only bowled 15 overs in the entire day!!!!! Unless a slower ball, I have never seen any International bowler losing so much pace.
I do not wish to be personally insulting to anyone, but Best is as brainless as Gibson. He is trying to bowl the fastest ball every ball. On these wickets you need some pace, but line and length is important. Neither was given.
Permaul steady but ineffective.
Surely this has to be the final lap for Sammy. Hiding and bowling 12 overs, 4 at the end when batsmen were shutting shop, is unacceptable. At his pace he needs line and length, none of which he did. If the West Indies continue with this guy as Captain and a Test player then there is really no hope. It is not that he is an extraordinary Captain, he is far from that.
However what will happen is this he will linger into the the NZ leg. My wish is they make an excuse for his fitness and drop him, irrespective of what happens here, from the next test and have Ramdin skipper. If Roach is still unfit send for Rampaul, Gabriel or whoever now!!
You cannot carry a player in tests and the lack of balance in the team is to accommodate Sammy. Even Ramesh aka Jala can see this.
Well done to Rohit and Ashwin, almost 200 partnership. I expect India to get 450, at least.

Bet when India was 83/5 you said they would not reach 150
. ;D
India 354/6
Rohit 127*
Ashwin 92*
Partnership 198*
This partnership has nailed the coffin shut for the West Indies
they will lose the match----but may escape an innings defeat.

Not sure if it's a flat track. I mean even the Indian batsmen were licked. Surprisingly, Ashwin makes the second highest score.

Mappappee,
Calm down. Rev actually reads and comprehends.
I find when you talk cricket, aside from social science, you make absolute sense in this forum.
We agree WICB poops, we agree Sammy and Gibson should be kicked out, you do not agree in Coaches the vast majority of us do. That really is the core of West Indies cricket.
You do not think the WICB should have external assistance, I and many do not see a problem.
You have chosen to fight a battle that does not exist and when you are on your high horse I have no time for that.
Listen at the end of the day we are people with lives, children, wife and this is only a Cricket forum to enjoy and share ideas.
I am going to the Ashes so I leave the floor to you Mappappee, teach the boys something.
Do not take it too seriously my brother.

No way it's a flat track---at least for the first 1 1/2 days---You saw Shiv getting bowled down by Ashwin by a ball that confounded him----that's wont happen on a flat track----and like you said---the Indian top order were "licked".
But Rohit and Ashwin surely making the track look flat and docile right now.

Agreed.
It will become flatter on day 3 where that spells trouble for Windies.
I know you are a great Shiv man but I was disappointed in that dismissal. The ball was ok but not brilliant.
You have to give credit to Shillingford as he turned it, varied well especially with flight and he has a doosra now which seems to have been the undoing of Kholi.
