I foresee a drawn test match here . Regardless of the Indians first innings total , rest assured that the windies will put up a massive total in the second inning

* The West Indies scored 463 in their 2nd innings at Eden gardens in 2011----they still lost by an Innings and 15 runs in 4 days.
* By the end of day 2---we'll get a clearer picture of how this test match will play out.
* Will India win in 4 days or in 5 days ?

You're predicting Rain for the 2nd test ? You're a wicked woman.
Listen! The gods would never allow rain to spoil the final test of the Indian god Sachin Ramesh.

I like your optimism, but it may be misplaced. After day 1 there is a 99.99% probability the WI will lose the Eden gardens test----after day 2 we'll recalculate the probability. ;D

Any great batting lineup can have its off days but the feeling I get with the Indian batting lineup is that anyone from 1-8 can take this match away as they have all, bar the debutant, have all scored test centuries and even Ashwin at 8 has a test average of 36 or 38! Rehane cannot even make the team just now.
Considering the amount of spin Windies players face in their domestic competition with similar pitches, I am aghast at their seeming weakness against spinners. Yes there is the issue of difference in quality but at this level you have to raise your game.
Of course most would want a draw to be salvaged but one innings was over before the days was out with another commencing. Things can change during a match as pitch and other condition change but Best can get the prize for the most unthinking bowler around. He just does not know how to temper his pace and put pressure by good line and length.
The real fact is selecting a team with Ramdin at 6 and Pacifier at 7 spells trouble and this was done to accommodate Sammy and it suggests the selectors do not have that confidence in Sammy to hold his own with the ball so get another bowler in at the sacrifice of a batsman either Kirk or Nars.
I am a great Ramdin supporter, as he is genuinely the best keeper, but after so many test matches his technique has not improved. He needs to bat at 7 or 8.
Lots can change but at the moment is seems a fait accompli.
