Asgar Ali was 36 years old in 1957......way past his best. his best was for Trinidad in the late forties early fifties of the last century.

for long years Asgarali was a cricket lynchpin in central Trinidad and at the top with his Wanderers club..out of which came Leo John in particular, a very good player for Trinidad.

there must be a statue of Nyron somewhere in Chaguanas or in that region

that was because the politics of the day resulted in the worse possible side being selected and sent to england under washed up John Goddard.  it included as openers Ganteume and Asgarali out of Titty..bot 36+ years old

very unsurprisingly these 2 could not bat in england and west indies ended-up pressing Kanhai into the opening slot.  from the records they both played once and were discarded.  west indies finished that tour opening with Sobers and Worrell.

allyuh talk about corruption these days.  nothing as bad as 1957 has happened in west indies cricket since then..not even Richardson over Hayes..a most egregious decision by the wicbc

Spinners Develop with age & Bishoo no exception. This years PCL is good for him & hopefully selectors bring him back against flat footed English man. He is better than Narine (doubtful action) . Also Narine looks to be caught in between his commitments . Lets him settle down & make a comeback as age is on this side.

I think Bishoo was mishandled by the West Indies and that is what resulted in him dropping off. Bishoo won the icc emerging player of the year and after that he was gone. West Indies overworked him in test matches and that has contributed to his break down.
