Barbados cricketer arrested following reports of assault on taxi driver

Barbados cricketer, Shaqkere Parris, is currently in police custody here in Antigua following reports of battery and assault on a taxi driver at a local hotel.
Reports indicate that Parris, who recently toured Sri Lanka with the West Indies Academy squad for a multi-format series, allegedly assaulted a taxi driver at the team's hotel after the driver refused to allow him into his vehicle following a verbal altercation.
Observer media was able to verify with officials at the Bolans Police Station that Parris is in custody and that investigations into the matter is ongoing.
The top order batsman is said to have pushed and punched the driver after the taxi operator removed his luggage from the vehicle.
