In a critical assessment, Kirsten also pointed out a significant gap in skill levels compared to international standards. The head coach said that Pakistani players have no clarity regarding shot selection during matches, despite having a lot of experience at the highest level.

He also claimed the Pakistan team had 'no unity' since he joined the team, and the situation in the dressing room was the worst he has ever seen in his coaching career. Kirsten also made it clear that players who show improvement will continue to be part of the team, while those who do not meet the standards will be dropped from the team.
