For the first time, Bangladesh have moved up to the eighth position of recently published MRF Tyres ICC Test Team Rankings. Bangladesh are now at the eighth spot with 75 ratings surpassing West Indies. This is the highest achievement for Bangladesh in Test Rankings after getting the Test Status back in 2000.
In the last one year from May 1, Bangladesh played 6 Tests. Tigers have won 1, drawn 1 and lost the other 3 during this period. Only win came against the Australia back in August which was also Bangladesh’s first Test victory over them. Australia went on to level the series with a victory in the second Test. Then Bangladesh lost the Test series by 2-0 against South Africa at their home soil. Earlier of 2018, Bangladesh lost the two-match Test series 1-0 against Sri Lanka at home.
In the Test Batting Rankings, Shakib Al Hasan is at 21th spot with 642 ratings. In the top 30, other three batsmen form Bangladesh are Tamim Iqbal (27th), Mushfiqur Rahim (28th) and Mominul Haque (29th)
In the Test Bowling Rankings, Shakib Al Hasan is the only Bangladesh bowler in the top 30. He is no at 19th spot with 655 rating points. Shakib also has retained his number one spot on the Test All-Rounder position with 420 ratings.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

What can save Test cricket? A start might be getting rid of the doomsayers who think they can see the future, and the T20 "commentators". When I was a kid in the 1960s I was really upset when I read Ron Casey (the silly Sydney one) telling me that Test cricket was dying because 22 blokes could stand around for five days and not produce a result. Big deal. Fifty years on it's still here. Give it half a chance and it will be in fifty years time. Test cricket is a relative liability to TV stations because of the thing that makes it glorious -- its uncertainty. A match might be over in two days, it might still be going after five. They hate it. I love it.
