I can't wait for the time when proper, technical batting in cricket is a priority again. So many average players are making names for themselves, just because they can slog a few balls out of the ground. I am bored with those players who muscle the ball to all parts. I want to see good, tough test match cricket played, where batsmen have use good technique to score runs. Players like Jayawardena, Hooper and Mark Waugh are the batsmen that I would pay to watch.

I've been saying this for a while now and largely get accused of being a Dinosaur for saying it, but as long as the long game is a true test of a nations ability to play cricket, then I agree more emphasis should be put on playing a game that lasts 5 days and not the premature ejaculation version.

I just hate to see batsmen nicking the ball down to third man and getting four for it, yet feeling that they are good players. In a test match they would be out straight away. Where is the skill in slogging a ball?

ACTION and action means big hitting! Some stonewalling nerdler who can't blast a shorty into

I am not sure those of us who see the beauty in a cover drive with feet to the pitch and eyes over the ball on contact with a steady head, are enough to change the way the game is played. When a match between Barbados and Jamaica was seen as a Test match in the 80s because of the sheer power of the players in WI cricket, those days may not return. That is what makes us yearn for the past. Each territory in WI cricket had at least 5 batsmen capable of filling any void, not to mention bowlers, seamers in particular. The dollar rules and spectators do not care to have a technical eye of the game as we care to have. Slam, Bam, Bash, Dash in vogue now, paying big bucks and bills. So, we have to wait this out.

I hate to see a one sided contest . 20/20 cricket is all about batsmen with big bats, small boundaries and muscles. Very little skill is involved and the bowlers are just looking for containment. The only time I enjoy watching a 20/20 game is when the pitch is taking spin and good quality spinners are on show. That's when you can see the difference between the high quality batsmen and the sloggers.

I’d pay to watch an in form Ian Bell, Sangakara, used to love watching Vaughan bat too you can see who Root learnt his trade from, Hooper was something else so much time it was ridiculous. Not much fun being a bowler any more especially with these flat pitches, massive bats and small boundaries!
