Well, anything can happen in cricket and for this match it did. Essex managed to salvage a draw thanks to Lawrence batting for about 7 hours on the final day and Lancashire simply couldn't get him out. Being a Lancashire fan myself and living about 5 mile away from the ground it was particularly disappointing for me, but at the end of the day, I think sometimes you have to praise the opposition rather than criticise your own team.

Lancashire played well enough to win, but Essex stood resolutely for the draw and got what they deserved in the end. Through gritted teeth I'll say well done to Essex and Lawrence in particular...I guess >:( haha.
