England tickets soar on day one of general release

Sales soar as 2017 International tickets go on general sale at Emirates Old Trafford

Sales have soared after tickets went on general sale this morning for next year’s England internationals at Emirates Old Trafford against South Africa and West Indies.

At the start of the day, the Club had already sold over 14,000 tickets over both games to 2017 Lancashire Members and priority supporters, with the Test Match proving particularly popular with supporters.

England have an impressive record against South Africa in Test Cricket, winning 21 of the 35 Test series between the two nations. The Fourth Investec Test match between England and South Africa, starting on Friday 4th August will be the first time the Proteas have played a Test Match in Manchester since their draw back in 1998, with the hosts eager to win at the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Meanwhile, England will take on the West Indies in the first Royal London One-Day International (D/N) on Tuesday 19th September and Trevor Bayliss’ side will be looking to get one over on the Caribbean outfit having been beaten in the World IT20 final earlier this year.

Tickets start from just £20 for adults and from £5 for juniors, whilst VIP Tickets start from £99 and hospitality from £249 + VAT.

Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Lancashire County Cricket Club said, “We’re delighted with how today’s sales have gone and it underlines the public’s support for international cricket in the North-West. Sales are stronger than expected at this stage which is great news and represents real progress for the venue.

“For those that regularly watch Test Match and One-Day International cricket, we urge you to book early to get your preferred seat and to avoid the disappointment of missing out on two great matches showcasing some of the world’s best players.”

You can secure your tickets by calling 08444 999 666 or by visiting our England 2017 tickets page.

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

These are presale tickets for next summers matches. Old Trafford has a capacity of 19,000. All days will be sell-outs.

Your claim that every MLB game is attended by 28K+ is simply not true.

12 teams this year had attendances less than 28K: Tampa, Oakland, Cleveland, Miami, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Atlanta, Arizona, Baltimore and Seattle.

AVERAGE for all teams seems to be around 28K.  19K?
All but two MLB teams averaged more than that EVERY GAME!

"BROKE" except for BB?  NFL, NBA, NHL got $$$$ coming out of their behinds.

Last year, only 8 of the 30 NHL teams had an average attendance greater than 19K, and three of those (Montreal, Calgary and Toronto) were in Canada.

In addition, 8 of the NHL teams (Anaheim, Colorado, Islanders, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Carolina, Arizona and Florida) all had operating losses last year.

While in the NBA, just 10 of the 30 teams had an average attendance greater than 19K.

I have taken the time to do the research and presented evidence to the contrary. I wish we could have a genuine discussion, however you make that difficult when you continue to push a narrative that is disproved by facts.

The overall average attendance in the NBA last year was 17,864. The overall average attendance in the NHL last year was 17,576.

For comparison, last year, England's series with Australia and New Zealand averaged more than 20,000 per day. As an average, neither the NBA nor the NHL drew more than those two Test series.
