ODI batting record-breaking is boring, says Angus Fraser

England's record-breaking one-day international performances could become boring, says selector Angus Fraser.

Eoin Morgan's side broke the world record for a one-day international score when they posted 444-3 against Pakistan on Tuesday.

However, Fraser believes bowlers are being "flogged", and said: "Obviously you want to see your team do well.

"But you want to see a contest between bat and ball. It can become a bit boring sometimes."

I can kind of see where he's coming from, and I think that he's right in a way, people want to see good, competitive cricket and what we saw that day was more of a battering that the bowlers had no answer to. If it had been a magnificent performance off all the batsman and they simply outplayed the bowling attack then fair enough, but when you see fairly decent bowlers with figures like some of them did at the end, it does kind of take the shine off the victory a bit.

ODI is dying man!!! It is only a matter of time before ODIs went through a drastic change or else it cannot survive. T20 is eating into its popularity being the more exciting version. Why should somebody watch a 100 overs game when he can have many times more excitement in 40 overs. If you want to increase the level of competition in cricket, make the boundaries bigger(at least 75-80 meters) and see what happens!!!

In that case, while we are at it, why not just reduce the game to 10 overs a side. Imagine all the action that could be packed into 10 overs and everyone could be home within 2 hours.  :

The fewer the overs bowled, the less real cricket is played.
