New Zealand in some real trouble. South Africa amass a massive 481/8 before declaring and have sent both Guptill and Latham back to the pavilion with just 13 on the board.

I really don't know how Guptill continues to get selected. His Test numbers are shockingly bad, averaging just under 30 in 81 innings. That is woeful.

QDK became just the 4th wicket-keeper to score 50+ in both innings as an opener, joining Faroukh Engineer, Kamran Akmal and Dick Spooner in achieving the feat.

I think New Zealand missed a trick in not bringing in either Jeet Raval or Ben Smith to replace Guptill during the recent tour of Zimbabwe. Instead, they stuck with him. A decision that was questioned by many fans, and the early returns aren't looking good.
