Albion in Berbice will come alive on Sunday September 11 when the DJ Stress Champions T20 Cup rolls into Corentyne full of International stars eager to shine under what is anticipated to be a clear night sky at Albion.
Former West Indies Captain and Guyanese with the most Test runs Shiv Chanderpaul is the latest high profile name to jump on the DJ Stress T20 train. Chanderpaul is being sponsored by Dave’s West Indian Imports which distributes West Indian products of all sorts across the USA. Chanderpaul sponsorship will go to an orphanage to be named shortly.
The Champions T20 Cup event will have an exhibition match at 16:00hrs before the feature event which will bowl off at 20:00hrs and will feature any array of West Indian superstars.
Guyana’s Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Romain Maniram will be joining Darren Sammy, Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Jason Mohamed, Andre Russell, Rovman Powell, Rayad Emrit and Kieron Pollard.
Berbice stars on show will be Shimron Hetmyer, Assad Fudadin, Gajanand Singh, Veerasammy Permaul, Davendra Bishoo, Jonathon Foo, Anthony Bramble and Gudakesh Moti. The players will be divided into two full-powered teams. Dave’s West Indian Imports will also give $2,000 for every boundary scored in the match.
Tickets which will cost $1,500 go on sale today at the following locations in Berbice, Georgetown, and West Demerara: Lalsa General Store (D’Edwards Village), A. Ally & Sons (New Amsterdam & Corriverton), Imran & Son (Rosehall), Imran & Daughters (Rosehall), Sham Beer Garden (Cumberland, Canje), Joseph Music Store (Regent & King Streets, Georgetown), Avon DVD Club (City Mall and Uitvlugt).
