“This is a marvelous performance from this young team. I am really proud of them,” Richards was quoted as saying by the WICB’s official website. “They really stood up to the challenge and we should be proud of this kind of performance. They did not win the Test match but if we can see more efforts like this I am sure this team is on the way to very good things.

“They applied themselves and were rewarded. This should be great for them and it shows that they can play at this level. This has lifted the series and I hope it lifts this team as well. There is talent, there is fight and there is character in that West Indies dressing and we saw it here today.”

The Indians have great admiration for Smoking Joe!  I still don't know why he is not in charge of West Indies cricket while we have a mediocre coach like Simmons in there!

The fighting spirit was really great.

On the second last playing day, it was looking like the game was in India's hand but west indies had real patience and that is what made them take the game away from India.

It was really a commendable effort from the entire west indies team specially the tail.

It's performances like this that can transform a teams mentality. While I'm not saying that just because of how the West Indies played in this game that all the problems have miraculously disappeared, I do think that the fans and more importantly the team can take a lot of encouragement from how they played and hopefully that can be a springboard now for the future.
