Australia:

0-4 in India

0-2 in UAE vs Pak

Now it seems like Sri Lanka will white wash them as well.

This is truly the era of "bullies at home, minnows abroad", West Indies exluded, of course.

24.4
Herath to Voges, beaten in flight as he drives, goes through with the stroke nonetheless,
didn't get it off the middle. Classical left-arm spinner's dismissal this.

Voges c Karunaratne b Herath 8

24.5
Herath to Nevill, that's as plumb as it can get! This is the arm ball which
comes back in to hit him in front of middle and off.

Nevill lbw b Herath DUCK

24.6
Herath to Starc,  Herath has a hat-trick
He's the second Sri Lankan after Nuwan Zoysa to take a Test hat-trick.
What drama in Galle.

Starc lbw b Herath  DUCK

I think that the Australians will b glad to put these series behind them to be honest, and while I'm not saying they haven't fought, to be whitewashed in this way possibly 3 times in one continent is a bit of an embarrassment and especially for a team like Australia.

The cricket team isn't perhaps the force that it once was, but even so I wouldn't have thought that many would have predicted that they wouldn't even win one game in all these series and when they get home I think there will be a few serious questions to answer that need answering.

In hindsight, Australia can consider themselves rather fortunate that their tour of Bangladesh was called off last year.  ;D

Of what I saw, Australia's batsmen looked as though they lacked a game plan. In fact, dare I say it, they looked very similar to England playing against spin. Even Steve Smith looked like a mere mortal out there.

Over the last 2 years, Aussie batsmen have shown an inability to play in swinging and spinning conditions. As soon as the ball starts moving, wickets start falling. I do wonder how much batting on flatter surfaces in Australia has hampered them.

Their bowling has still been very good overseas, it's the batting that has let them down. This is backed up in the numbers too. Over the last two years, Australia's bowling average in overseas Tests is 31.08. Only South Africa have a lower average. By contrast, Australia's batting average of 31.49 is fifth best. Good, but not elite like the bowling. Not surprisingly, Australia have the lowest batting average (23.42) in Asia over the last 4 years.

DownUnda can certainly speak to this more than I can, but I am not sure a Marsh/Nevill combination batting at 6 and 7 is good enough. What other options are there besides Nevill? Sam Whiteman, perhaps?

Not even modern-day Bradman could save them.

My cuz has this to say in defense of his Team :

F*** you guys are lucky.

Lucky that when Joe Burns failed to make contact

F*** you guys are lucky.
Lucky that in the last over of day one, Warner pushed hard at an off break !

F*** you guys are lucky.
Lucky in the first three overs of the 2nd morning, Khawaja and Smith , the captain

were both bowled playing for spin that wasn't there

And based on dillinger's captioned photo above :

F*** you guys are lucky.
Lucky that Adam Voges , he of the pseudo-Bradman batting average of late,

has contrived to get himself out three times in as many innings.
