1) The track turned more as the day went on.

2) West Indies, who won the toss, should have batted second. They didn't do this because they are inflexible, stupid and have it stuck in their heads that "chasing is always better".

3) Amla stayed so long at the crease, that the bowlers got obsessed with taking wickets. They tried too much and should have just aimed for containment. West Indies should have shifted their goal from "getting SA out" to "limiting SA to 300".

4) West Indians can't bat spin, and so of course the SA spinners will do better.

Perhaps, but too early to tell.

Also, the team doesn't seem to do any good research or planning. For example, Bishoo is the highest (domestically and internationally) wicket taking West Indian on that ground (albeit in tests, he hasn't played ODIs; Narine is the highest taker in ODIs there). Play him over Benn!
