Windies quartet in TT women’s cricket squad

THE WEST Indies Women’s quartet of Merissa Aguilleira, Britney Cooper, Stacy Ann King and Anisa Mohammed will spearhead Trinidad and Tobago’s title chase at the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Women’s Regional tournament in Guyana from July 3-21.

The quartet were part of the West Indies Women’s team who won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in India earlier this year. Matches in the tournament will be played in the T20 and 50-over formats.

TT will also bank on the experience of Amanda Samaroo, Shenelle Lord, Kirbyina Alexander and Lee Ann Kirby.

Newcomers to the team are Rosalie Dollabaille and Rachael Vincent, who were part of the Hibiscus Ladies who won the 2016 TT Women’s Cricket Association League title.

TT will again be under the guidance of coach Gerald Garcia, while Marjorie Thomas will serve as manager and Wayne Samuel will be the team’s trainer.
