After his 10-wicket haul at Headingley and 8 more at Durham, Jimmy Anderson has overtaken fellow teammate Stuart Broad as the number 1 ranked Test bowler. Surprisingly, this is the first time he has achieved this feat in his career.

I thought he was tremendous in Durham. The pitch was flat, the weather was bitterly cold and there was no swing on offer, and yet he still rolled over the Sri Lankan batsman. He is a real joy to watch.
