The recently elected board of directors of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) is scheduled to meet on Wednesday.
Outside of an introductory meeting held last month, Wednesday’s gathering will be the first for the board since the election of officers in March.
Among other things, it is expected to decide on the composition of committees that will serve the new administration.
A source close to the association told the Jamaica Observer that the board is to sign off on committees such as marketing, cricket development, national selection as well as the chairman for each.
In finalising the selection committees, immediate priority is to be given to the women’s team, Under-19s, Under-17s and Under-15s — all of whom are in preparation phase for regional competition.
The board is expected to decide on individuals to serve on the board of Sabina Park Holdings, the entity responsible for the running and upkeep of facilities at Sabina Park.
Also on Wednesday, Major Neil Lewis, who directed the 2016 JCA elections, is to make presentations on how to smooth electoral kinks.
Plans to review the widely regarded outdated JCA constitution are on the cards.
Wilford ‘Billy’ Heaven, who was returned as JCA president in March, has frequently called for amendments to the constitution to reflect modern management of cricket.
At the polls, Heaven defeated former honorary secretary Fritz Harris 52-47 to keep the president job.
Heaven’s executive team includes first vice-president Dr Donovan Bennett; second vice-president Mark Neita; honorary secretary Diann Campbell; honorary assistant secretary Clinton Clarke; honorary treasurer Hopeton Morrison; honorary assistant treasurer Kerry Scott.
The elected directors are Keith Campbell, Major Brian Lundy, Wayne Sutherland, Michael Atterbury, Dr Akshai Mansingh, Dalton Myers, Inspector Leston Pinnock, Baron Watson, Herbert Garriques, Keith Walford, Chester Anderson, and Pauline White-Anderson.
