A magnificent innings of 189 (17 sixes and 15 fours) by the first ever winning West Indies under-19

World Cup tournament captain Shimron Hetmyer led the Young Warriors Cricket Club of Cumberland, East Canje, Berbice to a massive 167 runs victory over Satro Cricket Club of Leguan, Essequibo Islands in a feature match played last Sunday.

He was capped for the Guyanans already wasn't he?

If you are talking West Indies, I think that is crazy.

Look how beaten Brathwaite was before being dropped.

I personally do not arte him but if he scores runs he will be in contention but I think he needs more exposure.

Even Joseph who seems a very good prospect should be given more first class experience but he might be the only one, that I have seen, in the U19 squad who might warrant some special attention.

Unless you are prodigious, you should do your time.

More reason for him to get more exposure.

No brainer.

One need to be sensible at the level at which he scores. Remember how prolific Brathwaite was and then he capitulated.... You need to have a system of development not estrangement as this is what happens. You introduce talent without the proper preparation and then it kills them.... Learn for goodness sakes.

All of us in the International community want a strong West Indies and Bangladesh team etc.

However I am not sure if this is not a partisan call.

From what I have seen Joseph is the best of the lot but even he, as a fast bowler, has to have conditioning and fitness.

What you fellas do is drop your best talent without a float and they die our.

For me one of the best bowling talent and potential match winner to emerge from the Indies for the last 20 years is Bishoo and, whilst he was not introduced too soon, he was and continues to be mismanaged as the thinking is stupid. Bishoo has to, forcibly, perform every time like a performing monkey. This is not how it works...

Day 4-5 Bishoo will destroy.

In the meantime, Days 1-3 he is a fantastic fielder, fearless, and he can bat with much steel.

In the meantime you imbeciles continue being insular.

Terribly infantile and does not add to some meaningful discourse.

I do think Blacky and Hope, from what I have seen...did not come to see the domestic completion 2 years, have great potential.

From the comments from the juniors here, I think the lack of Test success makes you think you should promote young players far too quickly.

Have a plan, let them develop and stop your insularity crap.

This is the only mode of development.

Classic Windian statement.

The boy is ok, nothing special especially as I hear about how crap the local tournament is.

If the lad had scored, in a crap tournament, 250 in no time then we should take note.

In fairness, it takes some gumption to score good on debut, irrespective of the paucity of the competition, but had he scored 250 in quick time at his age then you would start looKing.

We all need a strong Windies team but the infrastructure has to allow for development.

The insularity here is so palpable and it is distasteful.

KRISH TELL US ALL WHY YOU ARE BACKING THIS BOIIIII....

The main reason is that we both were born in the same village. The second is that field that he is standing on was in our backyard. our back gate lead to the cricket field. i played cricket and flew kites there as a child.
