Sri Lanka won the toss and will bowl first. Eoin Morgan not exactly exuding confidence in his post-toss interview, admitting, "We'd have looked to bowl first - it's a slow wicket & we're not sure what a good score is". 

Hales is fit again and comes back into the side for Vince.  Dasun Shanaka replaces Kulasekara for Sri Lanka.

Hales out for a duck. They just cannot play spin. Admittedly, the first ball was a ripper, but he looked like a deer in the headlights, couldn't get off strike and ultimately went for a slog sweep across the line. Plumb in front. 4/1.

Root drills a rank long hop down mid-wicket's throat. Unfortunate. That delivery deserved to go out of the ground. 65/2 (10.1 ov). Buttler promoted up the order.

Roy adjudged lbw, though it did look a bit high. He was clearly not happy. A good innings comes to an end. A shame he couldn't push on and see England through to the final overs. 88/3 (12.5 ov).

Eoin Morgan to the crease. If ever there was a time for him to find some form, now would be the time to do so.

Brilliant from Buttler. A fantastic 50 that propels England to a slightly above total of 171. Sri Lanka owned the powerplay, England the death overs, scoring 72 from the final 5 overs.
