Justin Guillen a superb 146 for Queen’s Park.
Queen’s Park captain Justin Guillen continued his prolific form with the willow when he cracked 146 runs against PowerGen on day two of their TTCB Premiership clash at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain, yesterday.

Resuming on 65 not out, Guillen added another 81 runs which helped his team to 369 all out in reply to PowerGen’s first inning score of 206. At the close of play PowerGen batting a second time was replying strongly on 76 for one.

Guillen’s knock was the cornerstone of the Parkites effort and came in 260 minutes of 201 balls with 21 fours and a six. Also, among the runs was spinner Sunil Narine, who cracked an unbeaten 59 off 102 balls with three fours and Javon Searles 41 of 115 balls with three fours as well. Guyanese spinner Royston Crandon was the pick of the PowerGen bowlers with 6/101.

At Barrackpore, Merryboys Sports were on top against Victoria, after claiming first innings. Led by an unbeaten 103 by Guyanese Jeetendra Sookdeo, the Patna Boys made 277 all out in response to Victoria’s 251. All rounder Aniel Kanhai then nabbed five wickets for 64 runs to reduce the home team to 166 for eight in their second effort. They now lead by 140 runs with just two wickets standing going into today’s final day.

At Wilson Road, Clarke Road will begin play today needing just 52 more runs for an outright win against Tableland. National player Kjorn Ottley slammed 81 to take Clarke Road to 316 all out, giving them a lead of 95 runs on first innings.

Spinner Kissoondath Magram then turned the screws on Tableland to bowl them out for 191. He finished with 5/73, as the consistent Akiel Copper carved out 58 for Tableland. Left with get 97 runs for victory Clarke Road closed on 45 without loss.

Alescon Comets were early winners, as they took care of Prisons by an innings and 13 runs at Pierre Road in Charlieville. Prisons made 117 runs all out in their first innings and Comets replied strongly with 427. Fazil Baksh scorched 74 not out, while Roston Primus also got 74.

Prisons batting a second time made a better effort in getting 297 with Idrees Mohammed who grabbed 4/71 when Comets batted, scoring 94 and Adrian Daniel 51. Bryan Charles took 4/93, to ensure the Andre Lawrence coached outfit ran away with the win.

Action in other matches continue today from 10am.
