I prefer to open or bat at 3.  I don't like batting down the order.

Interestingly, the majority of todays best batsman prefer batting at 4 - Root, Smith, Kohli, Younis Khan, Ross Taylor, ABdV and Chandimal.

Kane Williamson, Bravo and Amla do bat at 3. Smith also, though he admitted to preferring to bat at 4.
