The universe of Amitabh Bachchan fans seems to be a rather large one, often springing up many surprises. And the latest revelation is none other than West Indies batsman Chris Gayle. This week Big B got the surprise of his life when the Jamaican star-cricketer sent an autographed golden cricket bat to him. The limited-edition golden bat is signed, “To The Greatest Legend”.

Delighted by the surprise, Bachchan reciprocated the gesture by sending across signed copies of two books on his life to Gayle.

Says a source close to the development, “Chris Gayle is a huge fan of Amitji. He has seen a number of his films. In fact, when Kunal Sharma of Spartan Sports met Chris the latter suggested that a signed golden bat be gifted to the living legend.” The Bachchans have always been great sports enthusiasts — Big B is an avid tennis fan and his rapport with Sachin Tendulkar is known to all. Abhishek Bachchan plays football and owns a

kabaddi team. But this cricket story will go down in history, maybe one of the many grandpa stories that Aaradhya would like to tell her friends when she grows up.

Wow didn't know that Gayle was into Bollywood movies. He can be great actor too if he wants; has all the muscular build plus can be pretty charming with the ladies. It was great of him to give him a golden bat nothing less.

That's surprising, I didn't know West Indies players are into Bollywood movies. Although, I shouldn't be much surprised, Amitabji is certainly a living legend and one of its kind. He is renowned all over the world. Still, it is a great gesture and I can't wait for the upcoming Ind vs WI match.
