T&T College Cricket ..Fatima thrash Fyzabad for fifth straight win

FATIMA WON their fifth straight match in the Secondary Schools Cricket League (SSCL) Premier Division, as they thrashed Fyzabad by nine wickets in their Fifth Round battle at the Fatima Ground, Mucurapo yesterday.

Batting first, Fyzabad were bundled out for 36 runs with Daniel Brown claiming seven wickets for nine runs and Akiel Guerra 3/10.

In reply, Fatima raced to 37 runs for the loss of one wicket in 3.2 overs. Amir Jangoo was not out on 27 while Wendell George was the other unbeaten batsman with 10.

In another Premier Division encounter, 2015 champions Naparima suffered their fourth loss in five games, as they were beaten by five wickets at home to Presentation Chaguanas.

Naparima were skittled out for 76 in 28.2 overs with Matthew Patrick taking 4/20, Emilo Gopaul 3/15 and Jaden Seales 2/18.

Sherman Ramsingh scored 22 and Justin Gango 17 for the struggling Naps outfit.

Presentation Chaguanas responded with 77/5 in 26.5 overs with Darius Gopaul and Sachin Balai each scoring 15. Shadell Soogrim got 2/18 for Naparima.

Trinity East’s unbeaten start to the season ended yesterday as they fell to a six-wicket loss to Barrackpore West at Trincity.

Sachin Seecharan top-scored with 68 as Trinity East posted a score of 215/9. But Barrackpore notched 217/4 in reply with Darron Maniram hitting 91 and Stephan Katwaroo 49. Negus Smith got all four wickets for Trinity East, at the cost of 51 runs.

In the other Premier Division game, Hillview blanked Vishnu Boys by six wickets at Chaguanas.

Vishnu Boys tallied 166/6 with contributions from Jelani Seales (35), Mickyle Sadhoo (33) and Aaron Mairam (33). Hillview replied with 170/4 with Jonathan Hosein scoring 37 and Dexter Sween 35.

Other Round Five Scores - North Championship Division - At Carapichaima: CARAPICHAIMA EAST 350/7 - Dejourn Charles 86, Nathaniel Ramcharitar 74 not out, Akil Antoine 57; Sachin Emrit 3/62 vs EAST MUCURAPO 86 - Justin Joseph 4/14. Carapichaima East won by 264 runs.

At QRC Ground: QRC 94 - Jadel Poon Lewis 27; Kevis John 4/25, Joey Samuel 3/13, Pradeem Ali 2/29 vs BARATARIA SOUTH 99/2 (12 overs) - Kevis John 36 not out, Sameer Ali 24. Barataria South won by eight wickets.

At Signal Hill Ground: SIGNAL HILL 224 vs MANZANILLA 155.

Signal Hill won by 69 runs.

At St Mary’s Ground: ST MARY’S 149 - Joshua Dookie 37, Matthew Da Costa 23; Arim Modeste vs TOCO 68 - Joshua Dookie 5/11. St Mary’s won by 81 runs.

South Championship Division - At Siparia: IERE 174/9 vs COUVA EAST 125. Iere won by 49 runs.

At La Romain: St BENEDICT’S 169 vs PRESENTATION SAN FERNANDO 170/5 - Adrian Paharry 64. Presentation San Fernando won by five wickets.

At Penal: SHIVA BOYS 287/9 - Tariq Abdul 136 vs COWEN HAMILTON 81. Shiva Boys won by 206 runs.

At Princes Town: ASJA BOYS SAN FERNANDO 162 (35 overs) - Akil Mohammed 44, Enrique Singh 34; Daniel Cooper 3/28, Yahtan Henry 2/26, Nyron Julien 2/27 vs PRINCES TOWN WEST 118 (34 overs) - Dave Tikah 35; Brandon Sadanan 4/51, Kyle Roopchand 2/3, Akil Mohammed 2/10, Enrique Singh 2/22. ASJA Boys won by 44 runs.
