Narine not rushing to do ICC test

Sunil Narine

His target is the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty20 in March but Sunil Narine isn't rushing his remedial work.

The off-spinner's action looked good in the two matches he played last weekend for Queen's Park Cricket Club in the domestic 50-over Sunday League and his club coach David Furlonge is happy with the progress he has seen so far.

Furlonge also noted that Narine is more comfortable with his action but needs to keep working.

Narine was suspended from bowling by the ICC late last year after his action was found to be illegal. He was not allowed to play in the West Indies Cricket Board Nagico Super50 series, however the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) gave the spinner permission to play in its domestic competitions which bowled off with the 50-overs tournament last weekend.

It is imperative for Narine to not rush into an ICC test before making a full blown analysis himself. Any more bans will make it worse for him and the selectors start avoiding him if it continues to be a problem. Even the domestic T20 leagues around the world where he has made most of his name would not want a tainted player, essentially meaning the end of his career.

ESPN sat down with Saeed Ajmal this week to talk about the difficulties he has faced since remodeling his action. I thought this was relevant to Narine in regard to the similar challenges he will likely face.

Despite all of his best efforts, Ajmal really has struggled since returning to cricket with his remodeled action. Has there been any bowler that has been pulled up by the ICC for an illegal action that has returned to the game and put up similar numbers to those prior to their ban? I can't think of any off hand.

Narine done...the only place he will be allowed to play without the fear of being called is in the CPL.

Why?  The WI umpires are P ussies...they won't call him!

It is quite clear Narine wants to end this illegal action drama and therefore it's very important that he takes it slowly. I am very impressed that he chose to give the World T20 a miss to work more on his action, which goes to show that he still is passionate enough about bowling to change his game

and if you believe that, I own the Berbice bridge.  Its up for sale!  ::LOL:: ::LOL::

Narine/Pullhard and Bravo jr pulled out because of the salary fiasco!  Plus, Bravo and Sammy don't get along.

If Narine is serious about his "rehab" then he should stop playing wind ball cricket...where he developed the pelting action!!
