New Zealand were on the ropes at 99 for 6, and already missing their three most experienced players,

were further hamstrung by an injury to Mitchell McClenaghan.

Yet, as they have done time and again at home in recent years, they swung, scrapped and willed themselves

to a 70-run victory, finding heroes in unlikely place

The injury to McClenaghan was a nasty one, almost identical to the injury Broad suffered against India in 2014. Hopefully McClenaghan can shake this one off as Broad, by his own admission, has had a hard time feeling comfortable at the crease since that Varun Aaron delivery.

Point if Interest was the amount of times the Grills of him and Nicholls ;

were hit by the Pak  bowlers  :  I never witness that many before !

It would appear that McClenaghan's injury is more serious than first thought and will need at least a couple of weeks to recover, potentially putting his involvement in the T20 World Cup in question. That would be a big shame. Even if he is fit to play, you have to wonder about his mindset after taking a blow like that.

It's been 18-months since Broad suffered a similar blow at the hands of Varun Aaron and he is only now just starting to look a little more comfortable at the crease.
