Banned from international cricket by the ICC, off-spinner Sunil Narine

could find himself prohibited from even playing for Queen’s Park

Sources close to the situation but who wished to remain anonymous speculated that Narine

may have ruffled a few feathers in his defence of Evin Lewis, Kevon Cooper and Rayad Emrit

who were stripped of their retainer contracts after competing in the Bangladesh Premier League

(November 22 — December 15) last year.

The trio clashed with TT CB CEO Suruj Ragoonath

who they claimed had given permission for players to compete in T20 leagues

— an assertion Ragoonath has denied.

I don't think he can fix his bowling action. Alot of Trinidad's bowlers have been brought up to "pelt", and only stay below the radar because they don't make it to international level. Cooper is another huge "pelter".

I would legalise illegal bowling just to watch Narine bowl. I find him very entertaining. His old, swan-like action was really cool as well.

Happenings like these should let people like Chris Gayle know why sometimes other players will not come to their defence in certain circumstances. Most players tend to avoid the situation where the related administration will view them as trying to "Rock the boat." Narine, even though he was standing up for his colleague, may pay the price, by losing his place in the team, and losing his livelihood.

If that IS the case, and the only reason Narine has got the ban is simply because he's spoken out of turn, then cricket is in a far worse position than what anyone thinks it is.

If an action is found to be illegal, by all means deal with it but don't only look closely at a player simply because he's been brave enough to speak out for whatever reason.
