Jason Holder - Windies Captain

Will he be a bowling or batting all rounder?? ....  having to deal with the daunting task of captaining a Windies side at such a young age and seemingly with no support from the senior players, while trying to establish his own career.

I have always felt there was something special about him despite his naysayers.... His leadership qualities came to the fore... took the ball himself when his front line bowlers weren't performing .. batted ever so sensibly.  Hopefully he will survive without too many scars in his current role while taking all responsibility for team ...

What say the naysayers?  ........ You go young Jase !!!!

For me, I think Holder can be more of a batting all rounder - a fourth seamer that can hold an end down and create pressure. He is not really a wicket taker, but more of a control bowler that will get wickets due to the build up of pressure.

To date, albeit in small sample sizes, his numbers aren't too dissimilar to Ben Stokes. The main difference being Stokes has a better strike-rate and Holder a better economy rate. Both have almost identical batting averages, too.

An independently run WICB will not fix their problems overnight. But it will refocus efforts on what isn't working.
