not only bureau structure/vested interest but also ideological...a question of nationalism.
bureaucracy has grown up to stifle cricket everywhere yet in the big 3 they never forget to look after the nation.
in RSA one senses clique and race are dominant..that the dominant clique sees the national RSA interest as consistent with their own. Haroon Lorgat has added the muslim link to the dominant clique to the point where Amla may be seen as no different from them. he has added or joined up and that means little of a positive nature to players of colour.
it works however because so far the Saffies as they are have been producing dominant players. lets see how long they continue to.
India has its class/colour question as well..Pakistan also class. yet the national interest is never lost in these places as completely as it is lost in the west indies.
in this sense it is prolly very right to say that the west indies is not a country :
