3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur

So much discussion going on in South Africa over whether that pitch was fair. But as one of our former spinners, Paul Harris, said on the radio today, it may not have been good for cricket but it was still better than a high-scoring match which has no hope of ever producing a result. I guess you can never please everybody.

In his match report, referee Jeff Crowe gave the Nagpur pitch a "poor" rating. Not surprisingly, the BCCI disagree vehemently with the decision. It will be interesting to see what the ICC decide and what, if any, penalties are handed out.

In my opinion, home field advantage is a bigger problem than the toss in determining outcomes in Test cricket. It is becoming almost impossible for teams to win away from home these days.

Yes, absolutely. There are those that argue that part of the home field advantage is the ability to prepare the wicket to best suit your own strengths. However, the game still needs to remain fair and balanced. Having a pitch that is turning square on day one isn't fair.
