Sri Lanka finalised as hosts for Pakistan-India series

Sri Lanka has been finalised as the venue for Pakistan's 'home' series against India after an agreement was finally reached between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday.

An official announcement is due at the end of this month after the boards get permission from their respective governments but according to a source there will be no further deliberations on the venue of the much-awaited Pakistan-India series.

The meeting between PCB chief Shaharyar Khan and BCCI president Shashank Manohar on Sunday ended in a deadlock when the issue of the venue was raised.

“Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were considered as the venues and finally it was agreed that Sri Lanka was the right choice to host the Indo-Pak series,” said the source.

guess it is cheaper to get to and be in SL

I just think it's a pity the 'home' series can't be played at home, so with that being said, I think any other venue would have been as good as the next one.

I imagine that cost would have played a massive hand in choosing the venue and for that reason Sri Lanka probably is the best place for it.

Not really a home series when you're playing in a foreign country. Well, at least it's better than not playing a game at all. Perhaps next time they can fix any money issues and hopefully play at home next time!

That's pretty much what I was getting at aswell, and while I'd tmrather see the series played in Sri Lanka than be abandoned altogether, I'd like to hope that this will be the last time this sort of measure is called for in the game.

Probably doubtful but we can live in hope that common sense will prevail in future.
