Who is really in charge of Barbados¡¯ cricket?

THREE weeks away from the start of the West Indies Cricket Board¡¯s 2015/2016 regional cricket season and Barbados has yet to announce its management team.

There is one more trial match slated for October 13-15 at the Desmond Haynes Oval, but while this may be going on to narrow down and prepare the players, what about the management team whose job it is to guide the squad? Who gets to select the management team?

Last year with the WICB proposing a different structure for the teams and payments, the Barbados Cricket Association¡¯s board hurriedly set up the franchise so that cricket in Barbados could proceed. One would have hoped that after such a hasty action, a revisit to the franchise set-up would have been made to ensure everything was done correctly and clear guidelines and rules were set out.
