WEST INDIES IS NOT A NATION

WICB MUST BE DISBANDED. I WANT THE WORLD TO UNDERSTAND THAT:WEST INDIES IS NOT A NATION !!!! ''Rally Round the West Indies'' is a calypso and not a national anthem !!!!!! WICB is only interested in making money for its members. Do you know that WICB has over 75 members/employees, some of whom ''earn'' more than the highest paid players, and get paid every month even before the cricketers?WICB has been the destructive force that has been killing our cricket in the last 25 years. Look what happened in India last year. Wicb was ready to replace the senior protesting cricketers with other lesser players but BCCI would have none of that. The ''management'' of WICB has always been dictatorial as well as profiteering off the cricketers. West indies cricket is the last bastion of colonialism in the Caribbean.Why should the Caribbean islands hold onto this reminder of an inhumane past? We ought to pursue independence in all aspects of our lives. Our cricket should be as independent as the majority of our islands are.There is no West Indies football team.There is no West Indies basketball team.There is no West Indies track and field team.There is no West Indies swimming team. There is no West Indies wrestling team.There is no West Indies lawn tennis team. There is no other West Indies sports team. Why should there be a West Indies cricket team?Jamaica, Trinidad&Tobago, Grenada and the Bahamas have won Olympic gold medals in other sports. So, why can't these islands raise their cricket to test status, individually?Check out the history of the islands' teams over the years...at some times there were 8 Bajans on the West Indies team; at other times there were 7 Jamaicans and even 6 Trinidadians...5 Guyanese on the West Indies team. These islands have the know how and talent to produce their own test teams.

Well just like the West Indies federation which was a complete failure, the west indies cricket team should be scrapped and each nation go at it alone on the international stage.
