Ireland all-rounder Alex Cusack retires from international cricket

Ireland all-rounder Alex Cusack has announced his retirement from international cricket after suffering a series of injuries.
The 34-year-old, who made his Ireland debut in 2007, took 180 wickets and scored 2,347 runs in 174 games.
"I have been thinking about it seriously for a year, especially with the bad run of injuries I have suffered in recent times," said Cusack.
"Those injuries have taken a considerable toll on my body."
Cusack had originally planned to retire following the World Cup earlier this year, but delayed his decision until he helped Ireland successfully qualify for the ICC World Twenty20 in India in 2016.
He added: "I'm also the father of three young children, and I feel I need to be around more for them."

Well good luck to him on whatever he decides to do after his playing days. At 34 he still can play in some t20 tournaments and cash in on the big bucks which I am sure he couldn't have earned on the international level.

Do you really think Cusack is good enough to warrant a contract by any of the teams in the IPL, CPL, Big Bash or even the Natwest Blast T20? I certainly don't. There were some fantastic players that went undrafted in both the IPL and CPL, players far superior to Cusack.
