Windies slump to eighth in ODI rankings

BANGLADESH have overtaken West Indies for seventh spot in the latest International Cricket Council one-day team rankings.The Tigers have moved to 93 ratings points following their 2-1 win over World number two India in the three-match series which ended in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Bangladesh won the opening ODI by 79 runs and sealed the series with a six-wicket victory in the second game. They lost the final game by 77 runs.
The triumph was Bangladesh’s first-ever victory in a bilateral series over India.
This was engineered in large part by all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who scored 52, 51 not out and 20 in the three games, while taking three wickets, to return to the top of the ICC All-rounder rankings.
World champions Australia remain on top the standings with 129 points, well clear of India on 115. World Cup losing finalists New Zealand lie third on 112, marginally ahead of South Africa on the same number of ratings points.
Sri Lanka are fifth on 106 while England are sixth on 98 points.
West Indies are also eighth in the Test rankings headed by South Africa and are fourth in the Twenty20 rankings led by reigning World champions Sri Lanka.

Well it seems liket20 cricket is the only form of the game that can save cricket in the West Indies region. The team is not good in either odi or test cricket and this is reflected by their rankings.
