West Indies vs UAE: discussion thread

Assuming weather permits a game....

1. West Indies need to bat first and bat big and fast. To boost their RR, they should look to win by a solid 100 runs.

2. Zimbabwe almost posted 300 vs India. These days, nothing below 360 is a secure score.

3. Drop Dwayne Smith and play Holder or Ramdin as an opener. Play Charles, but lower down the order. A friend of mine suggested Andre open, if only to force him to learn to bat with responsibility.

4. Fire Gayle after the World Cup. Get Deo, Paint and Leon in the TEST TEAM and watch them. We hopefully have some promising batsmen from Barbados coming up; one can take Shiv's slot eventually.

Once again NO spinner in Benn or Miller.

Paint is in the test team.

Leon was also in but got dropped in SA. He could be recalled but he has to try and get beyond 40 odd.

Deo is almost 32. He got dropped after some indifferent performances on the last New Zealand tour.

Deo will make runs, I think. Give him a test tour now and see how he does. Who else in the dungheap can be promoted? Hope and Dowrich? Blackwood?
