The Trinidad Express article.
Port of Spain, Trinidad - Ramnaresh Sarwan has arrived in Trinidad and Tobago and will get a workout this weekend in T&T Cricket Board three-day practice match bowling off today at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva from 10 a.m.
New T&T coach Augustine “Gus†Logie confirmed that the stylish Guyanese right-hander arrived yesterday and would take part in his first practice match with the T&T franchise.
The coach and his players will be hoping for three days of sunshine more than anything else especially after the previous practice match were affected by rain.
However Logie still feels their preparations are going according to plan.
“At the moment we are on track in terms of our technical work,†said Logie.
“The guys have been coming into the net sessions and we have the players in a programme basically from Tuesday to Thursday. The guys are looking forward to another three-day game this weekend and we have Sarwan with us also so that is a plus,†he added.
Speaking about the progress of T&T’s batting line-up which has been inconsistent in the past, the T&T coach said “all in all, all the top-order batsmen seem to be coming into some kind of form.â€
“Evin (Lewis) has had two centuries so far. We have had a 90-odd from young Jeremy Solozano. We have also had a 50 from Jason Mohammed and (Steven) Katwaroo and (Nicholas) Pooran as well,†he explained.
“The top order is looking okay and we are basically looking forward to something from (Adrian) Barath,†Logie added.
“In the bowling, we had Akeal (Hosein) who got eight wickets recently, that is a plus for us and we are looking forward to Shannon Gabriel joining the team.â€
Logie continued: “It (the team’s preparation) is rounding up pretty well. Players are gaining in confidence and what we are looking for at this point in time is three days of sunshine.â€
Asked if the T&T players who were with the West Indies team in India were slated to join the training camp or if he had heard anything from those players, Logie said: “No. We have not.â€
“I believe they have other things on their minds at present and hopefully once that is resolved, we will then move from there,†he added.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

You can continue to look for Failure as accustomed !
Inspiration from having Sars on the Team : has generated a 33 run lead !
Young Deyal and Carriah were ecstatic that they shared a dressing room and talked Batting Strategy and Technique !

I do not have to look for Sarwan's failure over the last 3 years it is there for all of us to see.
I would be inappropriate to ignore the lad's past achievement and that he, in some way, can be a presence in the team and would possibly act as an inspiration to players, especially the young! I am sure players would love sharing a dressing room. I have no doubts Sarwan will fit in well and be generous with his time and advice, he comes across as that sort.
However Sarwan is there as a batsman and batsmen have to score runs, something Sarwan has not been doing 'reasonably consistently' even when he was recalled to the west Indies.
I do wish him the best in taking advantage of the lifeline offered to him but the bottom line for me, it is sad to see a potentially great palyer firstly not fulfilling his early promise and secondly continually fail over such a long period of time.
I cannot look for and find what is not there, can I?
I am not disparaging of Sarwan like you are of many.
He has another 12 days before the first FC fixture so let us hope he does well in his innings between now and then!
