Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard were both on the losing side when the Indian Premier League continued in Sharjah yesterday.
Following his match-winning four-wicket haul in Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR’s) opening day win over Pollard’s Mumbai Indians, Narine only collected one wicket yesterday, as KKR, defending 166 for five off their 20 overs, were beaten by four wickets by the Delhi Daredevils, who reached their target with three balls to spare. Narine got topscorer Dinesh Kartik lbw for 56, but his half century plus an unbeaten 52 from JP Duminy saw off the KKR challenge.
In the other game, Pollard managed just three and did not bowl as Mumbai made 115 for nine in their allotted overs. In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made 116 for three in 17.3 overs, with Parthiv Patel hitting an unbeaten 57 off 45 balls, while AB de Villiers also was unbeaten on a 48-ball 45.
Pollard’s West Indian colleague Chris Gayle was again missing for RCB with injury.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
