Watching all our batsmen bat is scary...In the seventies and eighties, all the wickets in the region were made for pace bowling and our batsmen were excellent on these pitches. What has happened?
We now have spin friendly wicket but none of our batsmen with the exception of a few can bat spin. The ones that can bat spin are good at it because they play overseas. The WICB has to wake up and prepare one set of wickets throughout the region. Then our batsmen must be masters of this surface. It is a joke that no one scores consistently anymore. At the rate we are going, we stand a better chance of winning away from home than at home.

the wicket you prepare have to be advantageous to you. In Australia and NZ , all the wickets are prepared to assist fast bowling and the batsmen in those place are not effected by pace. No matter how bad NZ or Australia are on the road, they are world beaters at home. They can bat pace. In the sub-continent, spin rules and all the batsmen their can bat spin...T20 or test. England have swing and their players can bat under those situation. We have to prepare surfaces that work for us, spin or pace. We have to decide which one works for us and teach our batsmen to perform on that surface.

What is tha Art or Science of Pitch preparation ?
My father tells me that back in the 60s~ 80s....at Bourda , Guyana :
soil specialists were on staff and could produce fast , bouncy 22 yards !
I dont see any such specialists/ geologists on the WICB.
all I see is that Gibson dude and now some director name Pybus >
