Abu Dhabi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir may have lost his place in the India national side, but he is not looking at the Indian Premier League as a launchpad to get back into the team.
“Never,†he said, during an interview with Gulf News on Thursday. “I have always said that I don’t look at such platforms for my comeback. My aim as of now is to do well for KKR and their fans. The fans have stuck with us in tough situations and, hopefully, we will do well. I don’t play for comebacks and I always play to see my team win and that’s what I’m looking for. If it has to happen it will happen,†said Gambhir, who attended his first net session at the Shaikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
The skipper says he is pretty pleased with the squad at his disposal, saying: “It is a new season, new squad and new challenge as well. We have got some really exciting youngsters in the squad, and I’m sure that they will try and express themselves to the fullest and play with lot of freedom. We are going to give the young the environment to go out and express themselves.â€
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

he might never get a chance to get back into the Indian side.We have got enough options at the top.Apart from that,he is well past his prime,he needs to get his nerves right in dealing with the in-swinger.If i have heard it right,he has been dismissed in that fashion the max no of times.
He also needs to concentrate on his hand eye co-ordination.it seems to have faded of late.

I think he has chances of making a comeback along with Sehwag as the current indian openers have not proved their worth yet. Shikhar Dhawan shined just in his first matches and Rohit sharma has been given a lot of opportunities and still not proved his mattle.

You gotta be kidding right?
Sehwag especially hasn't done jack all for even longer while. He's lost his mojo - and the odd ton here or there wouldn't make much of a difference. You inevitably lose your excellent hand eye coordination when you age, and then when you haven't worked on your footwork and balance, you'd look like a tailender (which is what happened with Sehwag).
Gambhir, I dunno. But I'm pretty sure both Rohit and Rahane has done much more to cement their positions, and bringing them grandads back is actually two steps back.
