Supreme Court appointed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) interim president N Shivlal Yadav has said he would ensure Indian cricket board's name is not further sullied. Yadav also added that he is not anyone's man and would take decisions independently.
Speaking exclusively to Headlines Today on Thursday few hours before he officially took charge of all BCCI matters, Yadav said, "It's an important responsibility as I will be in charge only for five months."
"The situation is not good," he said, adding, "But I have to accept the challenge and ensure Indian cricket doesn't take further beating."
When asked if Indian cricket's image has been tarnished by recent controversies, Yadav agreed saying, "We all have to put our minds into restoring the faith of the public."

"My first priority will be to get fans and their confidence back into the game and develop infrastructure. I will concentrate more on cricketing matters, which have suffered over the last two years," the interim BCCI chief added.
But first up on Yadav's agenda could well be the conundrum of just who represents India in upcoming ICC meetings. The Supreme Court's order suggests N Srinivasan cannot handle any BCCI matter. But Yadav left it to the Working Committee. "I cannot take this decision on my own. I will put the matter before the Working Committee".
When asked about his proximity to the displaced president Srinivasan, Yadav was categorical, saying he is not anyone's man. "I have many friends in the BCCI. I have been a VP for 6-7 years and have developed a rapport with many. But you cannot say that I am Srinivasan's man or anyone else's man. I will take my own decisions."
