LAKE WORTH, FLORIDA: The Chief Executive Officer of the United States of America Cricket Association (USACA) today announced that he has accepted a role in sport back in Australia and will leave USACA in late April. Mr. Darren Beazley was appointed at the commencement of last year and has worked hard to establish and implement the USACA Strategic Plan 2014 – 2016.
Darren Beazley will leave the CEO position that he held with USACA.
Mr. Beazley explained the development; “Leaving USACA and US cricket was not an easy decision given all we have achieved and where the organization is clearly heading with the development in funding for women’s and youth cricket and an arrangement for a home for the national tournament in Indianapolis with the $6M investment in the stadium and TV broadcasting of the games with ESPN.â€
Mr. Beazley also said that, “the opportunity to be part of the aquatics industry in the lead up to the 2016 Olympic Games and have our family settle back in Australia made the offer from Swimming WA too difficult to turn downâ€.
Mr. Beazley has accepted the role of CEO of Swimming Western Australia and will start his new post in May.
“I wish all involved with US cricket the very best for the future and look forward to watching the progress of the sport in the coming years at all levelsâ€, he said.
USACA President Mr. Gladstone Dainty thanked Mr. Beazley for his contribution to US cricket:
“Darren has helped us build a solid base on a number of fronts and we will be eternally grateful for the skills and energy he constantly applied to the sport and the community in the US.â€
USACA will immediately start the search process for a CEO to lead the organization into the next phase for the sport in the USA.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
