Kieron Pollard found some much needed form yesterday, scoring an unbeaten 44 and grabbing two wickets to help Queen’s Park defeat Bamboo by eight wickets in round one of the T&T Cricket Board T20 tournament at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port-of-Spain.
Pollard recently returned to action after suffering a knee injury.
The all-rounder has been included in the 13-man national squad to face the Combined Colleges and Campuses (CCC) in the regional four-day tournament, which bowls off tomorrow at the Oval.
Pollard took 2/15 in three overs to help limit Bamboo to 115/6. Krishna Arjune was Bamboo’s top batsman, slamming 51 off 59 balls, while medium pacer Kevon Cooper also took two wickets (2/12).
In reply, right-handed Pollard struck three fours and three sixes in his 30-ball knock to take the Parkites to 119/2 in 17.3 overs.
Captain Justin Guillen contributed 34 and national batsman Jonathan Augustus made 19 not out.
Spin bowler Yannic Cariah snatched 2/17 for Bamboo
