Hyderabad, Mar 24: Left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan will captain Sunrisers Hyderabad in the seventh edition of Indian Premier Leauge (IPL 7). Schedule; Squad On Monday, Sunrisers Hyderabad announced (via Twitter) that Dhawan will lead the team and West Indies' all-rounder Darren Sammy will be his deputy. Last season, Kumar Sangakkara was Sunrisers' captain. Before this year's players auction, Dhawan was one of the two players retained by Sunrisers. The other player was fast bowler Dale Steyn.

Beyond logic. Dhawan has very little experience as a captain. They should have made Brendan Taylor the captain. Even Steyn was a better choice.
