TRINIDAD and Tobago’s cricketers yesterday received a welcome they would wish to forget very quickly when they arrived in Bridgetown for their four-day regional cricket match against Barbados starting on Friday (March 21) at Kensington Oval.
The 13-man TT team, coming off their second successive victory in as many matches, landed at the Grantley Adams Airport on an early morning flight from Piarco International Airport and proceeded to their hotel only to be informed that their reservations were not made.
As a result the cricketers, led by stand-in captain Rayad Emrit, were forced to loiter around the lobby of the Barbados Beach Resort with some players including Jonathan Augustus and coach Kelvin Williams stealing a nap on the sofa and lounge chairs in the reception area of the hotel.
Also spotted trying to make themselves comfortable with their luggage stacked around them were star batsmen Daren Bravo and and Adrian Barath…
