DESPITE a menacing spell of left arm spin bowling from Veerasammy Permaul, host Guyana and Windward Islands ended their third round West Indies Cricket Board Regional four day match at the Guyana National Stadium, yesterday, in a dull draw.
Scores: Windward Islands 307 and 114; Guyana 213 and 171 for 7.
The Windwards who began the day on 96 for 8 with Romel Currency on 41 and Delorn Johnson 1, were bowled out for 114 in their second innings, as Permaul bettered his 6 for 39 against the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) in 2011, with his 7 for 47 to single-handedly dismiss the visitors, ending with match figures of 10 for 116.
His haul yesterday which started the previous day, was a follow up to his first innings 3 for 69, which together with Narsingh Deonarine’s 2 for 35, scuttled out the Windward Islands within the first 30 minutes of play, yesterday.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
