I agree Warner is a bit of an inconvenience, continually doing stupid things. Last summer with Root on a night out, his accusation of the Saffers for ball tampering and there are many similar things before for which he was fined.

I do not see how you can come to this conclusion as Sehwag has a sustained and proven record, something Warner is yet to achieve. Sehwag played 104 tests with 23 hundreds and an average always over 50 until the end when it dropped to 49. Let us touch base again after Warner has achieved 50 tests and then 100, if he ever does that.

David Warner is the most destructive batsman in world cricket at this point of time. He has been enjoying a great run of form over the past few months. His purple patch started at the beginning of the Ashes series in which he put up a number of great performances and helped his side win the Ashes. And he was able to carry this form over to the ODIs and now to South Africa where again he has had a great showing. He is going to be a very important player for the Australian side in the coming years.

Chanderpaul and Sehwag are a strange comparison (even from an opposites perspective). Though I agree on the fact that Chanderpaul was one hell of a sticker. It was really hard to get him out.

I remember when Brian Lara was captaining West Indies, it used to be horribly difficult for the Indian bowlers to get him out. I am sure that he would have the most 'not outs' in International cricket against India. Maybe an achievement, but in my humble opinion it made him a rather boring batsman to watch.
