England limited-overs captain Stuart Broad, who will lead the team in ODIs and T20s for the next few weeks, feels the time has come to move on from Kevin Pietersen, on and off the field, and focus on the future.
Broad met the media ahead of England's three-ODI and three-T20 tour to the West Indies, and was peppered with inevitable KP questions following the batsman's controversial dismissal and retirement, but Broad wanted to look ahead instead.
The fast bowler also said he didn't have much to do with the discussions surrounding Pietersen's exit, but was convinced it remained for the best and would encourage young players to become match-winners themselves.
Broad said: "I was aware of discussions towards the end of the Australia tour but I was not deeply involved particularly. It was a decision made by guys that have the English cricket team at their heart, and they want the team to improve.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Whatevs you say Bro(ad).
Well you kicked him out, I just hope you can recuperate with the new team structure well, minus KP.
There's potential though, in fairness - it's just the matter of clicking as a unit. It's WI T20 side all over again - got one of the best players who play around the globe and yet could keep losing to Irish all them time >
